Robert Bassett, President

Robert Bassett

President

Robert Bassett is a Florida native entrepreneur and founder of Synergy Utility Group, a leading contractor in the FDOT underground utility sector. Starting with a single drill and one employee, Robert built the company into a multi-million-dollar operation serving clients across the state. His success comes from a hands-on work ethic, a deep understanding of Florida's infrastructure, and a commitment to quality service and innovation in a demanding industry.

Growing up in Florida, Robert has witnessed the destructive force of natural disasters including hurricanes and their impact on the systems we depend on every day. When Hurricane Milton hit Florida's west-central coast, widespread power outages exposed the fragility of traffic infrastructure. Watching law enforcement divert resources to manage intersections and fuel deliveries sparked an idea. Robert founded GreenGrid and began developing advanced stored-energy and management systems designed to keep critical traffic infrastructure operating through future disasters or aged power grid failures—an innovation born from experience and driven by necessity.
